Diamond Jubilee

You'll all know that 2012 is the Queen's Diamond Jubilee year and to celebrate this and honour our patron the RNLI have named a Tamar class lifeboat Diamond Jubilee. This lifeboat is due to be delivered to her new home, here in Eastbourne at the end of May. That's not all... on top of this honour our lifeboat will be a part of the Queen's Pageant on the River Thames in June.
Over the August bank holiday weekend you'll be able to visit Diamond Jubilee as she will be moored at the Waterfront in the main marina. Everyone will be welcome to come aboard the newest addition to the RNLI family and see what it's like to be aboard a state of the art lifeboat – every penny we make over the Regatta weekend will be go into the Appeal fund. Eastbourne Lifeboat Station was tasked with raising £700,000 towards the cost of building the Tamar. We're well on our way to raise this but if you would like more details of the appeal or to donate please follow this link.
