Hello and welcome once again to the Eastbourne RNLI Regatta!

This is our 7th Regatta and it hass so far raised over £60,000 for Eastbourne Lifeboats to help maintain our lifeboats and their crews to ensure that we’re all able to fulfil our purpose of saving lives at sea.  2010 has been a busy year on station with 112 launches – making Eastbourne one of the busiest stations.

We’re moving into an exciting time in Eastbourne Lifeboats’ history.  This year sees the arrival of a new D class lifeboat which is due to be delivered during the summer.  Next year brings the arrival of a Tamar - one of the newest and fastest all weather boats in the lifeboat fleet.

Once again the Regatta takes place over the August bank holiday weekend and we’ve ordered good weather again!  So the plan is that we’ll be blessed with sunshine and fair winds so everyone – whether you’re on shore or offshore racing in the bay – will enjoy the weekend.

We have to thank the numerous local businesses in and around Eastbourne for the continued help and support and also their generosity.  And of course, to you for coming along and supporting our Regatta.  Every penny helps to keep our boats and crew ready for when the pagers ring out – whether it’s on a sunny afternoon or on a dark and miserable February night.

Anyway, here’s hoping you really enjoy the weekend!
